My First KDM Miniature - Knight Percival. Please be gentle! (Painted Mid Aug, 18)

I first found out about Kingdom Death: Monster by mistake. I had been painting miniatures for a few months and I was purchasing miniatures mostly from the Reaper Miniature website. Excellent stuff, but I started to search for more. I randomly found myself on Ebay and looking at miniatures on the site. This is where I found out about KDM, or to be more exact, fake KDM miniatures. I purchased a few from the site, then I began to searching more for Kingdom Death and soon found the actual site. From there I purchased my first official Kingdom Death Miniature, Knight Percival!

I painted Percival back in mid August 2018. At the time I was just learning about washes and highlighting. I was also learning how to make skin tone look more natural. I also was terrified of trying to make the eyes, so no eyes here.

Still, despite the imperfections, I'm happy with how she looks, given the level of skill I had at the time. I do intend to getting back to her in the future and look forward to a future post of before and after pictures. That will be very interesting! Hopefully my picture taking will improve by then as well...

Side Note: KDM miniatures are expensive, so if you've never heard of this before and do some research, be forewarned! Still, some just beautiful miniatures! One thing that I would want to advise: don't be careful of the cheaper models that you can find on sites such as eBay.com. They are often knockoffs and therefore the quality can vary wildly. I have bought from a few vendors before and will not likely do so again. First: it's not really fair to the creators of this game to be cheated of the profits by these illegal vendors. Secondly, the quality is just so poor versus what you can get from the originals that the few dollars you save just don't seem worth it, especially if you are a perfectionist.
